MSP security vendor SaaS Alerts has appointed Kaseya vet Jim Lippie as its new CEO.

This follows SaaS Alerts’ successful launch last August. The MSP security vendor’s platform allows MSPs to protect and monetize their customers’ SaaS applications. Those applications include Office 365, G Suite, Salesforce, Box, Dropbox, Slack and more.

“The mission of SaaS Alerts is to build the most MSP-friendly software company in the ecosystem,” Lippie said. “MSPs will find SaaS Alerts’ policies conducive to helping them grow and become more profitable.”

Over the last four years, Lippie has served as general manager and senior vice president of cloud computing and MSP success at Kaseya.

“I’m excited to leverage my experience in the software space to further the SaaS Alerts model, which allows MSPs to capture an incremental revenue stream by protecting the SaaS applications many of their SMB customers are already using,” Lippie said. “The need for MSPs to mitigate cyber threats for both themselves and for their customers is at an all-time high. With SaaS Alerts, we bring a solution that addresses this need in a unique and unprecedented way.”

Long History with MSPs

Lippie’s career in the MSP community spans nearly 20 years. In 2006, as CEO of Thrive Networks, he negotiated the first major strategic MSP acquisition by a Fortune 500 company. That was when Staples acquired Thrive.

Later, he served as president at IndependenceIT. Furthermore, he founded Clarity Channel Advisors. It helped MSPs profit from the cloud and transition to a profitable cloud-first model.

Lippie and his new company’s co-founders, Chip Buck and Seth Bostock, worked together as executives at IndependenceIT. That company was acquired by CloudJumper in 2018. NetApp then acquired CloudJumper last year.

“Our forward plan requires focused execution, and the ability to build and lead a high-performing team to further our growth as we continue to deliver SaaS security tools purpose-built for the MSP market,” Bostock said. “Jim has a proven track-record of exceptional leadership in this space, and has a unique understanding of the MSP community and vendor ecosystem, which positions him as the ideal chief executive for SaaS Alerts.”
