“After a long and successful year at Nextiva, I’ve made the decision to step down as CRO to focus on pursuing my next career opportunity outside the company, continuing to build, lead and drive industry impact,” Martorano told Channel Futures. “I joined Nextiva to make this kind of year happen.”

During that year, Nextiva put in place next-level sales leadership and set them up for success to “elevate the company against great competition,” he said.

“That foundation has been built with people like Cathryn Valladares, Eric Roach, Mark Dean and Marc Stein, to name a few,” Martorano said.

He stepped into this role with Nextiva with certain goals in mind. And he now believes “the road ahead is great for both Nextiva and myself.”

“This past year was an incredible experience where I had the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s best as we just completed the most successful year in Nextiva’s history, and for that I’m forever grateful,” Martorano said. “Tomas Gorny, Tracy Conrad, Marc Stoll and the entire Nextiva team are destined for much success moving forward.”

What’s Ahead for Nextiva

“Nextiva anticipates appointing a new head of sales in the near term,” a Nextiva spokesperson said. “In the meantime, the recent appointment of Marc Stein as vice president of channel sales and global channel chief signals Nextiva’s commitment to its partners.”

During Martorano’s tenure, he was active in shaping Nextiva’s channel strategy and creating new opportunities for partners.

Early in his tenure, Nextiva rolled out a new partner program, NeXus. It includes access to gamified training and certifications, demand generation tools, enhanced marketing capabilities and MDF. It also offers reviews of upcoming product enhancements, promotions and SPIFFs, and more to help partners across distinct business tiers.

Martorano’s channel experience includes more than 25 years of working with customers and partners around the globe.

Before joining Nextiva, Martorano oversaw Microsoft’s U.S. channel sales business. In addition, he was Intermedia’s chief revenue officer, senior director of marketing at Sage Software, and director of sales and marketing at Vision Solutions.

Moreover, he held channel and marketing roles with Epoch Internet and Ingram Micro.

Last month, Nextiva launched Nextiva Contact Center, a new CCaaS offering to help businesses deliver a differentiated customer experience. Nextiva Contact Center integrates with Nextiva Phone System.
